ECOMB has been awarded a contract in France

ECOMB AB has been awarded a contract to reduce emissions of CO and NOx from a biomass and coal fired boiler in France. The value of the contract is approx EUR 9 million.

The district heating plant supplies heat to Grenoble’s district heating net. The boiler burns a combination of biomass and coal. Biomass is used exclusively up to approximately 35 MWth and when higher heat load is required coal is co-combusted together with the biomass.

The contract is for a complete installation of an SNCR (Selective Non Catalytic Reduction) system where a solution of urea will be injected into the furnace to reduce emission of NOx. Storage tanks, pumping and dosing stations including pipe works are included in the delivery.

To optimise the combustion process for low NOx emissions an FGR (Flue gas recirculation) system will also be designed and installed in combination with the SNCR system.

The project will commence immediately and installation works are planned to start late summer 2012.

The order is a confirmation of the successful reference projects undertaken on coal fired boilers in Paris and Reunions Islands where ECOMB during 2008-11 installed Ecotube-Systems on three coal fired boilers.
